Science discovery: rust

Rust is a reddish- yellowish flaky coating. Rust can be found on cars, bikes and other things made out of metal. Rust is formed when oxygen comes in contact with iron. Oxygen gets to the iron by water or water vapor. Then carbon dioxide combines with the water to form a acid that dissolves some the water and some of the iron leaving behind the reddish orange color behind. Rust can be prevented by keeping your metal items out of the rain and water. Also you can buy products made out of stainless steal to prevent rust. Also rust can potently deadly! For example Tetanus. Tetanus can cause muscle spasms difficulty swallowing and fever, the disease produces neurotoxin causing the muscle spasms and difficulty swallowing and fever.
