For my science discovery I researched potassium. Potassium is found in the following foods:
Bananas
oranges/orange juice
Broccoli
cantaloupe
Salmon
Avocados
spinach
watermelon
sweet potatoes
white mushrooms
Prunes (dried plums)
winter squash
whites beans
Dried Apricots
Plain yogurt
Why do we need it?
We need potassium because it is used to maintain *fluid and *electrolyte balance in the body. Without it we get tired, irritable, and high blood pressure problems.
What is potassium?
Potassium is a *mineral found in varying amounts in almost foods.
Fluid (flu-id):
a substance that has no fixed shape and yields easily to external pressure; a gas or (especially) a liquid. Electrolyte (e-lec-tro-lite):
constituents of a living cell, blood, or other organic matter. Mineral (min-er-al):
solid inorganic substance of natural occurrence.

For my science discovery I researched on Heather flowers.
Wheres it found?
Heather can be found in Scotland, Western Europe, Siberia, and the North Eastern hemisphere.

What a variety!
The colors of the heather could be pink, white, purples and reds. They can size up to 7.9 inches to 19.7 inches! However, if your lucky they can grow to 39 inches tall!

www.shutterstock.com What's so special? We all love summer! The heather grows in late summer! The growth ranges anywhere from late July all till the end of August. When the icy cold winds and snow come blowing over and freeze over ground vegetation for animals such as deer and sheep, they may find themselves eating heather. However, not just mammals feed on heather, so many other species too.
And so on... The heather is such an amazing plant. What would we do without it?
