My science discovery is on the Arctic Fox. The scientific name for the Arctic Fox is the Vulpes lagopus. The Arctic Fox has a whitish blueish coat in the winter and in the summer their coat changes to a brownish color. The Arctic Fox can withstand temperatures as low as -58 degrees. The average lifespan of an Arctic Fox in the wild is three to six years, and weighs between 6.5 to 17 pounds. The bushy tail of the fox is used to help with balance. Female Arctic Foxes normally give birth around spring time and can give birth to up to 14 pups. Chamofauge is one major way the foxes avoid predators. their white coats in the winter help them blend in with the snow and ice of the arctic. In the summer time the brown and white in their coats help them blend in with the tall grass and dirt.

My science discovery is on sea turtles. There are seven different species of sea turtles, and six of those seven are endangered. These turtles live in almost every ocean coastline and some tropical beaches. Besides coming to shore to lay eggs, sea turtles live their entire life at sea. The diet of the sea turtle depends on the species of the turtle. For instance the diet of the loggerhead turtle differs from the diet of the hawksbilled turtle. The biggest threat to the sea turtle species is the humans. Turtles can get caught in fishing nets, and the pollution in the water can be swallowed by the turtle and can cause them to die. The sea turtle can weigh anywhere between 80-100 pounds. The scientific name for the sea turtle is Chelonioidea.
