Science Discovery
I'm doing my science discovery on the giraffe, the scientific name for this mammal is giraffa camelopardalis. The giraffe has a very long neck that helps it eat the foliage off of trees, they also have tongues that can be nearly 20 inches in size. A giraffe is yellow with spots that can vary in color they can be brown, orange, chestnut, or nearly black in color these spots can be found around the body and neck, its tongue is a purplish-black color, some believe this is to help the giraffe from not getting sunburns on its tongue while feeding off the foliage of trees. It either moves by galloping, or walking, when it lies down the giraffe puts it front legs down first then the rest of the body. They are native to Africa, and they are many different sub-species, from many different parts of Africa. They aren't targets of many animals, but they are prey for lions, and on occasion, crocodiles.
