The climate is tropical. The terrian is mostly rough and mountainous. The total arable land is 9,921.6 square kilometers which is 36%. 970 square kilometers of arable land is irrigated from 2009. There are 14 cubic kilometers of renewable water resources in Haiti with fresh water withdraw being 1.2 cubic kilometers per year.
Haiti's population is 10.12 million people from the year of 2012. 80% of the people living in Haiti live in poverty. The total sanation facilities that are unimproved in rural and urban areas is 73% of the population, and 27% of the total population in rural and urban areas are improved. Waterborne diseases that occur in Haiti are bacterial and protozoal diarrhea, hepatitis A and E, and typhoid fever. Haiti's improved water source in the rural and urban areas total is 64% of population.
Water.org now has a commitment to reach 50,000 Hatians with clean water and sanitation by June of 2014. Other objectives they have.

Decrease the prevalence of water-and sanitation-related diseases in the target areas.

There is also periodic droughts and they get a lot of rain during two seasons and barely any during the other two. there is a high risk of waterborne diseases causing diarrhea. Haiti doesn't have enough sanitation facility sources. There is also a very high water stress.
Haiti has an economic water scarcity. They have an economic lack because they can't afford water due to not having many jobs, or people visiting Haiti because they aren't a high tourism country.
