My science discovery is on the Giant Panda. It's order is Carnivora and it's family is Urisdae. It's scientific name is Ailuropoda melanoleuca. It has a lifespan of up to twenty years. It will generally carry it's baby's for 95 to 160 days. They grow to be anywhere from 60 to 90 centimeters tall at the shoulder. Giant pandas live in broad leaf or coniferous forests in the bamboo at elevations of 5,000 and 10,000 feet. They weigh in between around 220 to 250 pounds. They may look very cute and cuddly, but you've heard the saying 'looks can be deceiving' they can be just as dangerous as a grizzly bear.

My science discovery is on the fennec fox. The fennec is a nocturnal fox found in North Africa. It has very large ears to dissipate heat. They can measure out to be about 6 inches long! It's scientific name is Vulpez zerda. The fennec will usually carry a baby for 50 to 52 days when in the wild. It may vary if in captivity. They are great diggers and they live in underground dens. Fennecs usually dwell in small communities of about 10. They usually prefer to look for shrubs or plants, but they will eat rodents or any other type of meat that may pass along. The fennec can be anywhere from 9 to 16 inches from head to tail, and can weigh between 2.2 and 3.3 lbs. They are quite tiny. That is my science discovery on the fennec fox.
