This week I decided to do my science discovery, on the Essex-class aircraft carrier. The Essex-class has 24 carriers built in it class was the USS Ranger (CV-4). The Essex class was used in World War II, and the U.S. Navy uses designs like the Essex class. On the newer models of the aircraft carriers, after Pearl Harbor the U.S. Navy wanted some revenge on Japan. So the U.S. Navy got it when they launched bombers of an aircraft carrier.
One of the Essex class designs and bomb the Mainland of Japan. Westinghouse geared turbines connected to 4 shafts; 8 Babcock & Wilcox boilers. This is what makes this carrier go, 32.7 knots, about 37 mph.

This week I decided to do my science discovery, on the USS Pennsylvania (BB-38). The USS Pennsylvania was the lead ship in the Pennsylvania class of battleships. She was known as a super dreadnought she was the third ship built in the Pennsylvania class. She was laid down on October 27, 1913, and was launched on March 16, 1916, Its` captain was Henry B. Wilson. It was in the bombing of Pearl Harbor but it did not get destroyed. After all she did for the U.S Navy she was used for tests of atomic bombs.
