My science discovery is on beavers. The beaver is a mammal and is a herbivore. It has a lifespan of about 24 years. A beavers weight can average anywhere from 18kg to 20kg. Beavers are semi aquatic creatures and like to live around bodies of water. Beavers build their homes out of mud and sticks. They have a layer of transparent eyelids to help them see at night. The scientific name for a beaver is the Castor genus. Beavers teeth never stop growing, but the constant gnawing of wood keeps them form growing too long. Despite their bad reputation and scary appearance they can be known to share their homes with muskrats.

Acid rain can be very dangerous to humans, and is becoming a bigger problem.Acid rain is formed when pollution is released into the air and the gasses released mix with the clouds. When the gasses mix is makes the precipitation slightly acidic. Human activities are the main cause of acid rain. Power plants and factories that produce nitrogen and nitrogen oxide are make up for a large percentage of the gases released. Acid rain can cause respiratory diseases like asthma or chronic bronchitis, acid precipitation can even cause cancer. Man made structures are also effected by acid precipitation. The acid in the rain can start to erode the structure and cause it to loose what once was a beautiful form of art. Rain isn't the only form of precipitation that acid can be added to. Hail, snow, sleet, and thick smog can also become acidic.
