The My science discovery is on cancer. Cancer is also known as a malignant tumor, or malignant neoplasm. Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth. Cancer has a potential to spread to other parts of the body. Not all tumors are cancerous. Possible symptoms or signs include: a new lump, abnormal bleeding, a prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss, and a change in bowel movements. Tobacco is the cause of 22% of cancer deaths. Another cause is obesity, a poor diet, lack of physical activity, and alcohol. The major types of cancer are Carinome, Sarcoma, melanoma, lymphoma, and leukemia. Caricomas the most commonly diagnosed cancer originating in the skin, lungs, pancreas, and other organs and glands. Lymphomas are cancers of lymphocytes. Leukemia is cancer of the blood.Sarcomas arise in bone, muscle, fat, or cartilage and is relatively uncommon. Melanomas are cancers that arise in the cells that make the pigment in skin.

My science discovery is on how music affect us. Music can cause goosebumps. Sadness or joy from the music results in goosebumps. This is because all emotions simulate a part of the brain called the hypothalamus, which controls goose bumps, increase heart rate, and sweating. Scientist don't know how emotions act on the hypothalamus and the rest of the brain to set this process into motion. A scientist found that people that are listening to music often experience goose bumps when listening to sad song rather than when they are listening to happy songs. He also observed that people commonly get goose bumps when music evoked a past melancholy experience, such as a painful breakup or loss of a loved one. He believes that music chills have to do with chemicals the brain releases to deal with kinds of social loss.
