My science discovery is on the chinchilla. they are slightly larger than the ground squirrel. They are native to the Andes Mountains in South America and live in "herds" at high altitudes. They can vary from 11 to 19 inches head to tail. In the wild, they can live up to 10 years. Chinchillas are part of the family Chinchillidae. Chinchilla fur is considered one of the most valuable furs in the world. As of today, chinchillas are listed as a critically endangered species through the IUCN. The main reason of their population decreasing is human hunting for their fur. That is my science discovery on the chinchilla. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinchilla https://www.pinterest.com/galeonmodels/chinchillas-y-vizcachas/

My science discovery is on the ring tailed lemur. The ring tailed lemur is a member of the Lemuridae family, and its scientific name is Lemur catta. Its average lifespan in the wild is 16-19 years. An adult usually weighs around 4.5 lbs. This lemur normally grows up to around 1.5 ft in length head to rump. These lemurs are found only in the southern parts of madagascar in dry forests. Lemurs live in groups of roughly 17 other members. Their society is female dominant. This is only a small amount of information about these amazing creatures.
