The tiger tank is a tank used in WW2 by the Germans. The tank was developed in 1942 and used until 1945. The tigers gun was the 8.8 cm kwk 36.
The kwk 36 could fire 4 different types of shells One type that is commonly used is the PzGr. 39 shell or Armour piercing, capped, ballistic cap. The Tiger tank also is very armored with 100mm of steel on both the hull or front of the tank and the front of the turret, 60mm at the sides and surprisingly 80mm at the rear. The tank was a boxy shape for the main purpose of bouncing shells. You would think flat surfaces would be easier to penetrate but if the tank was angled at about a 45 degree angle all of the flat edges would become perfectly angled. This technique must have worked because only 487 out of the 1,347 were destroyed.
my science discovery: radioactivity
What is radioactivity is: Spontaneous emission of radiation, either directly from unstable atomic nuclei or as a consequence of a nuclear reaction. radioactivity has caused many problems. For example Chernobyl , in Chernobyl the nuclear power plant about 14.5 km away had exploded and caused many people in the area to become sick. Reactors work by using uranium to heat water and create stem that turn turbines and generates electricity. The flaw was that the one in Chernobyl use graphite to keep a continuous reaction happening which caused the reactor to over heat.
