My science discovery this week is a groundhog. A groundhog is part of the rodent family along with rats, and mice. Groundhogs tend to dig holes in the ground to hunt or to dig dens. They can be very aggressive on occasion but not typically for most groundhogs. Groundhogs have many names such as woodchuck whistle-pig and a land beaver. Groundhogs tend to have big litters such as 6 to 8 newborns. They also hibernate in the winter. They hibernate in the holes they dug during the summer. There a type of rodent known as marmot. They live in groups up to thirty-five members. I would watch were your walking if your taking a hike in the wood cause you could step in one and it could end up breaking your ankle or spraining it. This is my science discovery!!!!!

My science discovery this week is a fire ant. A fire ant got its name because when it bights you if feels like you have been caught on fire. Fire ants live in things called colonies. Colonies are large groups of ants that live together kinda like bees how there are hundreds of worker bees and one queen. Fire ants usually live in dead trees and sometimes in houses. They act like regular bees but just bite differently. Fire ants feed on plants and they are almost at the bottom of the food chane. so next time you are out in the woods watch were you sit or step!!!!

My science discovery this week is if you put a gummy bear in water for 24 hours and then eat it will it taste the same?? The answer to this is yes the gummy bear will taste the same. So I was the person to test this i put the gummy bear in the water and it expanded like what it was supposed to and it tasted fine but when you bit into it the who inside was water. there really wasn't much difference between them except the texture one was gooier then the other. You should try it sometime!!!
