11/17/14 Science Discovery

This science discovery will be about dogs. I have two dogs so I wanted to find out more about them, specifically why they bark. After researching the topic I found out that it is their form of communication. We speak in languages such as English. They speak by barking or yipping. The reason they bark or yip could be for plenty of reasons. Some reasons include; showing that they want to play, giving a warning, or protecting your home from intruders. Their barks can also show that they want food or a treat.
In conclusion this is my science discovery for this week.

11/10/14 Science Discovery

My science discovery this weekend is about dry wall. I discovered that drywall is also know as "plasterboard." Drywall is mainly used to make walls in houses, but thats not what I wanted to discover. I wanted to discover what it was composed of. I researched the topic to find out that drywall contains gypsum plaster which is pressed between two sheets of paper. Gypsum plaster is a sticky paste that is used to seal things like windows, as well as stick drywall together.

11/3/14 Science Discovery

Over this weekend I was asked to make a scientific discovery. I was looking around my front yard trying to find something to learn about. Then it hit me. Oxygen! I breath it in everyday, so why not learn about it? Oxygen is made up of one atom bonded to two different hydrogen atoms. Although we can't see oxygen it is necessary for things inhabiting the earth to survive. If we had no oxygen we would not be able to live life on earth.
In conclusion this is my science discovery about oxygen.
