My science discovery this week is about squirrels. Squirrels were first found in Ontario. There are 200 known species of squirrels. The most common squirrel around here is the grey squirrel. Did you know they have 2 breeding seasons per year? Also did you know that he babies double their weight in a week? The reason i did my discovery on squirrels because I saw the biggest grey squirrel ever in my grandpas back yard!

My science discovery is on Koala bears, or also known as "Phascolartos cinereus". there is only one known species of a Koala bear, but 2 or 3 sub-species. Many animals need a special way to live in winter. However a koala does not. Since Koalas live in Australia there winters are un-harsh compared to ours. Koalas will only mate at certain times like Spring or Summer. After Koalas have mated for a few months they produce what's called a joey. The joey sits in the mothers pouch for about 3 months.

My science discovery is on Vipers also known as "Viperidae". Vipers live in the rainforest mainly. They eat small animals like mice. They are very poisonous to humans. And Vipers fangs get to be 2in. sometimes even longer!
