November 3, 2014 Ice Experiment
Since it is getting colder out, I decided to do an ice experiment. Leaves were on the ground and there were thin sheets of ice in several places. I decided to see how thick the sheets of ice were when I had water with leaves in it to freeze, muddy water to freeze, and regular water to freeze. My experimental groups were the water with leaves and the muddy water. The control group was the regular water. I left them outside for the for the night and this morning when I looked at them, the water with leaves appeared to have no thickness at all. The muddy water was two centimeters in depth same as the regular water.

November 16, 2014 Snow Experiment
It had snowed outside so I decided to see how long it took for different piles of snow to melt. I left one pile in the sun (control group) one in the shade and one on the bank (experimental groups). It took the pile of snow in the sun 20 minutes to melt, the one in the shade 1 hour to melt and the one on the bank 30 minutes. Improvements could be that I could have shielded them from the wind so the snow wouldn't be blown away.

November 17, 2014 Why Cats Catch Mice And Don't Eat Them
I've noticed recently that my cats have been catching mice and leaving them where ever they want. I decided to count how many mice and I found 10 mice in the lawn. I have 7 cats, so one must be hunting well. I found out that if a mouse, squirrel, ect. is already injured, the cat will kill it but not eat it. Cats want fresh prey, prey they killed themselves. I think that cats want a sense of pride when they eat their prey, to say "I caught this prey, and now I can eat it." A cat's scientific name is Felis Catus and a mouse's scientific name is Mus.
