My science discovery this week is on horse hair. I chose to do horse hair because I know a lot about it. It's texture is thick and coarse, somewhat greasy all of the time but not so greasy it is unpleasing to the touch. Horse hair can many different lengths, colors, and styles. It's all about how the owner likes it. My personal favorite are long multi-color manes but you could prefer single color roach styles. A roach is when the mane is short and sticks up resembling a mohawk. Horse hair is used for many things such as a bow for a violin, or even bracelets! you can dye, cut, curl, or do pretty much anything you want to with their hair. Be creative! thanks for reading my science discovery!

I chose to do my science discovery today on coffee. I chose to do this because in the 21st century coffee has almost become an essential part of most peoples daily life. What I found out about coffee is it is just brewed coffee beans. Some people put sugar and creamer in their coffee to make it sweeter and some people prefer it black. Coffee was started in Yemen in the middle of the 15th century! People may drink coffee to wake themselves up, or maybe just because they like it. But whatever the reason you may want to slow down. Coffee has lots of caffeine in it and lots of caffeine can be harmful to humans over time. And that is what I found out about coffee. Thanks for reading!
My science discivery this week is on milk. I chose to do milk because we all know that its healthy for us and we need to have it in some way shape or form, but do we know why? Milk is a dairy product produced by the mammary gland of mammals. An interesting fact:

I've decided to do my science discovery on the life cycle of a butterfly. The life cycle lasts about 30 days. there are 5 stages to the life cycle. The life cycle starts with the egg. This stage lasts about 4-6 days. The next stage is the larvae. In this stage, the butterfly will eat strictly milkweed. This stage lasts about 12 days. The third stage is pupa, or chrysalis. the caterpillar will travel as far away from the milkweed as it needs to find a safe place to pupate. It will lay down a silk mat, then attach itself to it. It will then drop and hang in the shape of a J for about 24 hours. The larvae then will shed it's skin one last time and underneath is a green coat called the chrysalis. At first it is soft, but within an hour it becomes a hard, protective shell for the larvae. It will be in this stage for about 10 days until it turns to it's final stage; the butterfly. And that is the life cycle of a butterfly!
