There are many species of alligators. Many of these are known to be extinct, but in all there are about 23 different species of the alligator! Finally is there average length. The average length of the American Alligators is 400cm long! The Chinese Alligator is very little compared to the American Alligator. It is only 150cm long.

My science discovery is on monkey's. The scientific name fr a monkey is "Catrol Vandcliechin". There are way more species of monkey's than you think! There are nearly 260 species of monkey's know to still be living. The first monkey to be found was by a European way back i the 1400's! I am not doing this on any specific monkey, but they are said to grow up to 3-5 feet, and 120-200 lbs. I'm guessing this is an ape though. But there is one specific monkey that i thought was interesting, and that was the Sea Monkey. It only grows to be 15mm. in 4 weeks! It may be hard to think of th size of a mm. , but just think of 1.5 centimeters. However this is NOT a real monkey. Sea Monkey http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/blog/?p=57

My science discovery this week is going to be about seals. First off, in case you didn't know seals are found in Antarctica. You may be wondering how seal are able to live there seens how it is so cold, bu seals have what's called blubber which keeps them warm. There are 19 known species of the seal that are still living today. Many people think of a seal being just gray but they are various colors, Yes grey is the most known, but did you know that they can be tan and brownish black too? You may also think that all seals are in danger too, but it is said that only the grey seal is in the most danger. Do you know the average length of a seal? Well a female seal is 5.9 feet (1.8 meters) long, and a male is 7.5 feet (2.3 meters) long.
