Volleyball was first called mintonette, but then later changed to volleyball. The first special designed volleyball was made in 1900. 64 years later, volleyball was introduced to the Olympics. Volleyball is played on a court that measures, 29 feet, 6 inches wide, and 59 feet long. The height of the net is about 7 feet. While a game of volleyball is going on, there are 6 people on each side. The positions consist 3 people in the front row, and three people in the back row. The people in the front row are usually your taller players. The people in the back row are usually your better passers. The positions are numbered 1-6. In my opinion, volleyball is a very fun, but tiring game. Volleyball is my favorite sport and I encourage the girls in our school to play it too!
