For my science discovery I chose to do the Black- Throated Green Warbler and i hope you learn as much as I did doing this project. Males have a bright yellow face that's framed by black throat and olive green crown. Females are recognized by yellow face, and they have a much less black throat. They are usually found in Canada and the U.S. external image images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRBWsfo0MbJWob0x_0ZzSFa6SMfiXktgG9-j1Wo10VqBRRcXyxzQQ

For my science discovery I chose to do lava and I hope you learn as much as I did doing this project. Lava is molten rock that has been extruded onto earths surface. Before it reaches the surface, lava is called magma. .Magma contains crystals , unmelted rock, and dissolved gasses, but it is primarily a liquid. Oxygen , silica, aluminum , iron , magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium, titanium, and manganese are the primary elements found in magma, but other trace elements may be present in small amounts. What happens when water and lava mix?
The lava will start to cool off, but not necessarily enough to make it hard. It can still flow if its still hot enough. The water, on the other hand, will flash into steam instantly, sometimes explosively. If the water is sea water, then sometimes the minerals will also be carried with the steam, and other gases can be produced. Or, other gases can be released from components of the lava. Some of these are poisonous (such as chlorine gas from the salt in the water). So, don't go near a steam plume created from lava. It will be much too hot and possibly contain poisonous substances.

sense it is close to Halloween i couldn't wait to do a science discovery on pumpkins so i am going to do that as my science discovery. This weekend i went to my friends house to carve pumpkins and if you have ever carved a pumpkin you know how much fun it really is. You may think pumpkins are really boring when you look at them but they turn out to be really fun. when i went to get my pumpkin this weekend i couldn't decide weather to get a big pumpkin or a small pumpkin. but i ended up getting a big one and when i got to my friends house and started carving i knew i would have a hard time. all the carving knives were way to small to go all the way through my pumpkin. i ended up having to use really big knives and a lot of them but when i was done getting the top of my pumpkin off i looked in and saw all them seeds and slime. i really like the slime in the pumpkin unless its cold. it took me a while to get all the seeds and slime out of my pumpkin but i finally got it. then when i got the face done it was way to small for my pumpkin but i got over it and i had a lot of fun so if you have never carved a pumpkin you really should because it is really fun and i bet you would in joy it so grab a friend and carve!

this week for my science discovery i chose to do mushrooms and i hope you learn about it as much i did. A mushroom is the fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus, typically produced above ground on soil. as you may know a lot of people eat mushrooms on their pizza or on other foods or maybe even plain. you may think " wow mushrooms are so gross how can anybody like them" well truth is a lot of people like them and you do too. now your probably saying that i dont know if you like mushrooms or not but i do! you eat mushrooms every day surprising right? well you might think that you dont eat them every day but you do its like there are tiny pieces of mushrooms in your soup and you cant taste them so you think its good think of it like this i dont like tomatoes but every time i eat ketchup i eat tomatoes! and i like it! so you do eat mushrooms and you do like it. besides being a food mushrooms are a fungus. that is a little information on mushrooms.
