Raspberries

Last week my mom was driving me to school when she noticed the raspberries looked ripe and delicious. We picked a few and they were absolutely delicious . A lot of us have had raspberries and we all should know that they are red but do you know anymore? That is okay if you don't because I didn't either but we both will soon enough.

This sweet, juicy fruit doesn't just grow the color red, this fruit can also be, purple, gold, or black. It is very hard to believe that there is a such thing as gold raspberries and those ones are even told to be the sweetest. Don't think that black raspberries are the same as these, the difference is that raspberries have a hallow core black raspberries do not. There are over two hundred species of raspberries which grow in a variety of places, you can grow them in a garden or happen to spot some in the woods. When picking these raspberries you need to make sure they are ripe and ready for your enjoyment. Look for the berries that are darker in color and firm, not too squishy, if the berry is not ripe you will have difficulty pulling it off the bush. Once you have picked the berries they will stop becoming riper.

Fruit is really good for you, and it taste good too, so lets give you a little information on raspberries. You can use thee to top a variety of foods and use them to make an excellent fruit smoothie. Fruit is good for you have you ever asked yourself though, why? This is good for you because of the things it contains, for this fruit you get, vitamin c, calcium, iron, vitamin B-6 and B-12. I hope that answers your questions because it certainly answers mine.

Like many other things in the world there are myths about raspberries, I think you might enjoy to know one. A myth that would be great for me is that to tame a bewitched horse you wrap a wild raspberry twig around the horses body, this myth originated in Germany. There are many more odd myths that have originated all around the world but that could take all day so I hope this one grabbed your attention.

In conclusion, I found this topic very interesting and hope you did too. I know know much more about the fruit and think it is even cooler. I guess there is still a lot to learn about my world.
