My science discover is on bats.I chose bats because it is getting close to Halloween and one of the things that are associated with Halloween is bats so i thought i will do my discovery on bats.Bats are the only mammal that can fly. One out of every five animals in the world is a bat. While bats hang upside down, their feet are relaxed they must exert energy to let go. Blind as a bat? Not so! All bats can see and fruit bats have better eyesight than humans. That was my science discovery.
My Science Discovery is on moths. Some facts about moths are their are more than 11,000 moths in the United States alone. While some moths are nutritious for their ability to impersonate other animals. To avoid being eaten. Moths: The next super-food that's right in some parts of the world moths are a major food source for people, too. More than 90% of people in some African countries eat moth and butterflies, caterpillars, according to a 2004 survey by the food and agriculture organization of the United Nations. Caterpillars are packed with protein and healthy fats and research shows that 100 grams of these insects provides more than 100% of the daily requirement of some vital minerals, such as potassium, calcium, Zinc and iron. That was my science discovery.

My science discovery is on Orange Calcite it is found in Chihuahua, Mexico. i went to rock City Park on Saturday September 7th. My family and i went their for something fun to do. So we went to Rock City Park and looked around in the little gift store and then went on the trail. When we came back i found the orange calcite in the gift shop it was hard to choose because they have all these cool things they have sweatshirts and signs with quotes on them and food their are all kinds of good and useful things their but i picked the orange calcite. Somethings that you probably did not know about orange calcite is can be used to get positive energy moving in the area of creativity. Orange Calcite has strong energizing and cleansing properties.

My Science Discovery is on geode rocks. I recently received a geode rock. My step mother purchased one for me and one for my sister. Some facts about geode rocks look like an ordinary rock but inside you can find beautiful crystals. These rocks are called geodes ( from a Latin word meaning " Earthlike"). They are generally round or oval ( egg-shaped) and range from 2-12 inches 5-30 centimeters in diameter. Geodes are made up mostly mineral quartz, which consists of silicon dioxide (a compound containing silicon and oxygen). Other minerals found in geodes include those containing carbon (such as calcite) or sulfur (such as pyrite). On the outside of a geode is dull quartz called chalcedony. Inside the geode has many sparkling crystals that point inward. The crystals act like prisms, reflecting and refracting(bending) light to produce a dazzling display of colors, although some are larger. Geodes grow over many thousands of years through the action of water flowing through rocks. Some geodes form in the cavities (holes) of limestone and shale. Others are found in places where gas has bubbled up through molten lava from volcanoes. When the lava cools and hardens, the bubbles leave cavities in which geodes come from. As water flows through the such rocks, minerals dissolve in it. The water carries the these minerals and deposits them on the insides of the cavities. Over time, the minerals grow into crystals and a black outside. My stepmother said that it was the only purple one she had seen their when she purchased it, and that was my science discovery.
