Last week I was taking care of the chickens and visiting with the horses when I noticed with my stepdad that along with the apple tree out back there was a pear tree. We found lots of pears on the ground and decided that it was a pear tree. How many of you have seen one of these trees?
There are a variety of kinds of pear trees, today I am going to tell you about two of the many. Dwarf pear trees can exceed eight feet in height and can be grown indoors and in pots. Dwarf pear trees do not produce less fruit or not as good of fruit in fact, they produced just as good quality fruit. Standard par trees can reach up to twenty feet in height. Standard pear trees cannot be grown inside or in a pot, they are commonly wider than the dwarf trees.
Now that we know about the trees, how about the fruit. Have you ever had pears? Well when they are fresh picked they are juicy, and sweet and to me taste so good. One medium size pear contains twenty seven grams of carbohydrates which will provide you with energy. This fruit also contains two hundred and eight grams of potassium which is one of your daily necessities. This also contains iron, calcium, Vitamin A, and Vitamin B-6. This sounds pretty good to me.
In conclusion, I know not everyone sees one of these trees every day and not every one like them but, they are great for your health like most fruits and the trees are really pretty. If you see one of these trees or further research it I would love to hear about. I hope you have enjoyed and learned something from my scientific discovery.
A few weeks ago my brother was suggesting we cut down the beautiful bush with pink and white flowers, I have always thought that it was pretty but i have never knew what it was. My mom said that the bush was a hydrangea, I asked myself what is that? I thought back to that day this weekend and I decided that if i knew nothing about it that I could do that for my science discovery.
How many of you have ever pointed out a hydrangea? If you have yet do do so you will so be able to. Just like people all plants are different this plant specifically can grow from four to twelve feet in height. These grow quite fast unlike most other bushes and plants. Flowers vary for each bush, they vary depending on the soil. In an acid soil the flowers will be a gorgeous deep blue and white, in alkaline soils the flowers will be a shade of pink. This bush will produce pretty flowers from spring to late autumn. The flowers are bunched together as if it were a prepared bouquet. Now I hope you might be able to point one out if you see one.
There is a variety of hydrangeas out there so why not discover those as well? Two kinds are Lacecaps and the other is Hortensias. Lacecaps will be between six and seven feet in height. There are stunning dep blue and white flowers. Hortensias grow between three and four feet in height and have pink flowers that bloom almost all year unlike the other kinds.
In conclusion I am glad I am now educated on this beautiful plant that my mom brought to my attention. I am excited to share this with others so they become educated as well. I hope you too have now made a discover.
Last week my mom was driving me to school when she noticed the raspberries looked ripe and delicious. We picked a few and they were absolutely delicious . A lot of us have had raspberries and we all should know that they are red but do you know anymore? That is okay if you don't because I didn't either but we both will soon enough.
This sweet, juicy fruit doesn't just grow the color red, this fruit can also be, purple, gold, or black. It is very hard to believe that there is a such thing as gold raspberries and those ones are even told to be the sweetest. Don't think that black raspberries are the same as these, the difference is that raspberries have a hallow core black raspberries do not. There are over two hundred species of raspberries which grow in a variety of places, you can grow them in a garden or happen to spot some in the woods. When picking these raspberries you need to make sure they are ripe and ready for your enjoyment. Look for the berries that are darker in color and firm, not too squishy, if the berry is not ripe you will have difficulty pulling it off the bush. Once you have picked the berries they will stop becoming riper.
Fruit is really good for you, and it taste good too, so lets give you a little information on raspberries. You can use thee to top a variety of foods and use them to make an excellent fruit smoothie. Fruit is good for you have you ever asked yourself though, why? This is good for you because of the things it contains, for this fruit you get, vitamin c, calcium, iron, vitamin B-6 and B-12. I hope that answers your questions because it certainly answers mine.
Like many other things in the world there are myths about raspberries, I think you might enjoy to know one. A myth that would be great for me is that to tame a bewitched horse you wrap a wild raspberry twig around the horses body, this myth originated in Germany. There are many more odd myths that have originated all around the world but that could take all day so I hope this one grabbed your attention.
In conclusion, I found this topic very interesting and hope you did too. I know know much more about the fruit and think it is even cooler. I guess there is still a lot to learn about my world.
