The goldenrod scientific name is the solidago. The goldenrod is a edible plant. It is Nebraska's state plant. The look of the goldenrod has a wood like stem and is a yellow flower like plant. It is about 10cm long and 2cm wide.

Sugar Maple

You tell if its a sugar maple because of its dark green color on the outside and light green on the underside. It has three big lobes and one small lobe on each side. The average leaf is between 3 to 5 inches long and wide. The twigs of the sugar maple are reddish-brown. Thee trees bark is grayish-brown to dark brown.

Scarlet Oak

The scarlet oak leaf is 3-7" long and 2-5" wide.The one that I picked is 6 3/4" long and 4 1/8" wide. The leaf is shiny green on top. The bark is dark grey. On older trees it becomes blackish and rough.

The pine needle of a pine trees scientific name is pinus. The pine trees bark is darkish-grey. Another name for the pine tree is the evergreen tree. Its called the evergreen because its pines stay green all year. The average height of a evergreen is 60 to 90 feet tall. The average tree grows 2 to 3 feet a year.
