Fish In A Aquarium

Does the size of an aquarium determine how large the fish will grow?

The size of an aquarium will not affect how large a fish will grow.

INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING WITH YOUR EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN: [remember it must be a controlled experiment] 1. A hypothesis 2. Explain how to set up the experiment:
  • Brainstorm a list of all the variables that must be kept constant during the experiment: How much you feed the fish and what, how cold or warm the water is, and what you put in the tanks like rocks and other fish decorations.
  • Include identification of the independent variable: The independent variable would be the size of the aquariums.
  • The dependent variable: The dependent variable would be the fish.
  • Identify the control group: The control group is the fish in the average sized aquarium.
  • Identify the experimental group(s): The experimental groups are the fish in the bigger and smaller tanks.
3. Provide enough details for someone else to set up your experiment: To set up the experiment you would get 3 of the same fish and put one in a small aquarium one in a big aquarium and one in a average size aquarium. You would have to check the tanks after a while to see which fish is the biggest to get your conclusion.
