What are glow sticks made out of? Can they harm us? A glow stick is a self-contained, short term light source. It consist of a translucent plastic tube containing isolated substances that, when combined, make light through chemiluminescence, so it does not require a external energy source. The light cannot be turned off and can only be used once. Glow sticks are often used for recreation, but may also be relied upon for light during military, police, fire,or EMS operations. There is two chemicals and a dye in glow sticks. The chemicals inside of the tube are a mixture of dye and diphenyl oxalate.

Today I'm going to be doing my science discovery on peafowls. The male peafowl has blue or green colored plumage. The female peafowl has a mixture of dull grey, brown and green in her plumage. Although she lacks the long upper tail of the male she has a crest. The female also displays her plumage to warn off female competition or signal danger to her young. Peafowls are omnivorous and eat most plant parts, flower petals, seed heads, insects, and other arthropods, reptiles, and amphibians. Peafowls are forest birds that nest on the ground but root in trees.

Today I'm going to be doing my science discovery on Sphynx. Sphynx is a breed of cat. They are known for there lack of fur, although they are truly not hairless. Their skin is the color their fur would be. Because they have no coat they lose more body heat than coated cats. They have a high level of energy, intelligence, curiosity, and affection for their owners. For theses cats you have to give them baths weekly and can never leave them outside alone.
