10-7-14 Ebola! my science discovery this week was on Ebola. Ebola is a virus in your stomach that can kill you just like other viruses but Ebola is very deadly. it has occurred only in Africa until this year a few weeks ago when a man that came from Africa had the virus in Dallas Texas. the symptoms are very close to the flu. vomiting, fever, dizziness, headaches, etc. Ebola isn't easy to catch because in order to get it 98.99% of the time you have to be exposed to the liquid that comes from the person (vomit.) the other 2.1% of the time is just being around them. The last huge out break of Ebola in Africa was in 1953. this year it has been bad as well. Ebola is nothing to be afraid of because its far away from us. Ebola in Africa is because they don't have clean water. the people who have Ebola in Africa most of them die. one because they don't have half the good hospitals as we do. second of all it isn't half as clean. and third of all they don't have clean water like i said. i promise you your safe here my fellow friends.

10-14-14 why do we cough? coughing is usually brought up by the fact that you have a type of sickness like a cold or scenic infection. coughing is triggered by mucus that drains down the back of your throat to have an itchy sensation in your throat. infections in your lungs or airways can cause a cough. coughing saves you from time to time it brings up mucus dirt dust or anything that chokes you. it clears your windpipe and airways all together so that you can breathe better. have you ever been out in the cold and inhaled all of that cold air and started choking? that's because when all of that cold air comes in it freezes your windpipes makes them dry and makes you cough so you can regenerate saliva to make your mouth moist again.

10-20-14 this weeks science discovery is going to be on owls. owls are birds in the order strigiformes. including over 200 species of owls, they one species i will be talking about is the snowy owl. snowy owls are mostly white with narrow sparse brown spots. there small golden in color eyes, thickly covered toes and claws, and their dark bills are short and strong and sharply pointed. they are the largest of the north american owls. snowy owls mostly eat mammals ranging from small rodents to large hairs. they also eat a large range of birds, from small song birds to large geese. the population of these large fierce owls are high when the prays population is high and low when the population of the pray is low. unlike any other owl these owls hunt in the daytime. they like to see what they catch. there range is all over north america.

10-27-14 spiders. spiders are a very disgusting arachnid but they do so much for us in various ways. millions and millions of spiders live in one place at a time. it is said that no matter where you stand on land that you are always no further than 6 feet away from a spider. there are more than 38,000 species of spiders living around the us today and many more to discover. the earliest evidence of a spider was about 38 million years ago when a Devonian found a fossil of an unfamiliar animal now known as the spider. spiders can be very harmful but also very helpful to many homes they feed off of Little insects, other spiders and even dust! thats on way to keep your house bug free.
